Position Overview:

The Production Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day production across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts in a high-volume CNC machining environment. This role focuses on capacity planning, schedule execution, and workforce development to ensure on-time delivery, optimal throughput, and alignment with business goals. A strong background in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and lights-out production is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Sales & Delivery Performance: Align production execution with business objectives to consistently meet or exceed monthly revenue and on-time delivery targets.

·        Shift/Site Oversight: Provide hands-on leadership and support across all three shifts, ensuring seamless handoffs, clear communication, and consistent performance standards around the clock. Provide support for remote sites as needed to ensure solutions are provided to meet customer expectations.

·        Capacity Planning & Scheduling: Develop and manage production schedules to maximize machine utilization and labor efficiency while meeting delivery and sales targets.

·        Throughput Optimization: Prioritize and sequence work to ensure high spindle uptime, efficient workflow, and minimal downtime—especially during lights-out and unattended operations.

Workforce Development: Maintain an up-to-date skills matrix to identify cross-training needs and support employee development across shifts. Lead, coach, and mentor


Qualifications:

·        5+ years of experience in a production leadership role, preferably in CNC machining or contract manufacturing. Strong technical background with the ability and creativity to solve problems and meet customer expectations.

·        Proven ability to manage multi-shift operations, including 3rd shift and unattended/lights-out production.

·        Strong background in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.

·        Effective in capacity planning, scheduling, and throughput optimization.

·        Comfortable using Epicor (or similar ERP) in conjunction with PowerBi to make data-driven decisions to manage shop floor performance. Proficient with Office 365 and strong skills in Excel, Teams, etc.

·        Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
